Worked example: BPM to delay time

At 120 BPM, one quarter-note beat lasts 60,000 ÷ 120 = 500 milliseconds. An eighth note is half of that duration, or 250 ms. A sixteenth note is 125 ms. A dotted eighth is three quarters of a beat, or 375 ms, while a quarter-note triplet is approximately 333.33 ms.

These values provide a timing reference for delay or reverb settings, but the best musical setting can differ because of groove, pre-delay, feedback, note density, arrangement, and the processor’s behavior. Round only as much as the control resolution requires.

For a channel test, begin with low playback volume, use a clearly labeled left and right signal, and confirm that the operating system, interface, cable, and application routing are set as expected. Stop immediately if the signal is uncomfortable or unexpected.

A successful browser test means the selected path worked in that moment. It does not isolate every hardware fault, intermittent cable problem, driver issue, acoustic problem, or recording-chain defect.

Does a clean waveform mean the audio is high quality?

No. Noise, distortion, room acoustics, frequency balance, encoding, performance, and listening context still matter.

What is the delay time for 120 BPM?

A quarter-note beat is 500 ms. Other subdivisions are derived from that value, subject to the processor and musical context.

Can a browser tool diagnose a broken speaker?

It may help confirm symptoms, but it cannot isolate every hardware, cable, amplifier, routing, driver, or acoustic problem.
